Xin Guobin, deputy minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said at the 2018 World Robot Forum on August 16 that in 2017, China's industrial robot sales reached 141,000 units, which became the world's largest application market for 5 consecutive years.

Xin Guobin said in the forum on the forum that the application field of Chinese industrial robots is accelerating from traditional fields such as automobiles, electronics, food packaging to winemaking, ceramics and other characteristics. At the same time, the development of smart technology such as voice recognition, face recognition, and precise positioning has accelerated the application of service robotics. At present, it has covered various realistic scenarios such as families, schools, shopping malls, banks, hospitals, and restaurants. The special robot field has also broke through many key technologies such as new materials, positioning navigation, and power control, and initially formed a product system represented by underwater robots, security robots, search and rescue and explosion robots.

Xin Guobin predicts that by 2020, the demand for Chinese robots will account for 40%of global demand, which will profoundly affect China's manufacturing industry, make China more competitive in the world and achieve sustainable development.

He also pointed out that there is still great potential for the standardization of robotization in China's industry. China hopes to further strengthen international innovation cooperation and jointly respond to the difficult challenges of the global economy's recovery growth in twists and turns.

The 2018 World Robot Conference opened in Beijing on August 15th. The main forum of the conference will be held for three days. Participants will exchang and discuss issues such as basic technology and innovation, artificial intelligence and integration, market prospects and investment.
